Source: https://kickbot.com/docs/integrations/stream-deck

The KickBot plugin for the Elgato Stream Deck puts Kick controls on your keys. With one press you can make a clip, send a chat message, turn slow mode or subs-only chat on and off, clear the chat, or skip a TTS message. You install the plugin from the Elgato Marketplace and connect it with your Stream Deck key from [kickbot.com/dashboard/settings](https://kickbot.com/dashboard/settings).

The plugin runs on Windows 10 or later and macOS 10.11 or later, with the Stream Deck app version 5.0 or later.

## Before you start

- You need a KickBot account with your Kick channel connected. See [create your account](https://kickbot.com/docs/getting-started/create-your-account).
- KickBot must be a moderator in your channel. Every action runs through the KickBot account in your chat. See [add KickBot as a moderator](https://kickbot.com/docs/getting-started/add-kickbot-as-moderator).
- Only the channel owner and admins can see the Stream Deck key.

## Install the plugin

1. Install the Stream Deck app from [elgato.com](https://www.elgato.com/us/en/s/downloads) if you do not have it yet.
2. Open the [KickBot plugin on the Elgato Marketplace](https://marketplace.elgato.com/product/kickbot-91b8566b-5d6c-464a-afda-2fe5ad74fc01) and install it.
3. Open the Stream Deck app. A **KickBot** category shows in the list of actions on the right.

## Connect the plugin to KickBot

1. Open [kickbot.com/dashboard/settings](https://kickbot.com/dashboard/settings), or click **Account** in the left menu, then **Settings**.
2. Go to the **Stream Deck** group. Click **Show** to see your **API key**, or click **Copy** to copy it.
3. In the Stream Deck app, drag a KickBot action onto a key.
4. Click the key. In the settings under the key list, paste the key in the **KickBot Key** box.
5. Do steps 3 and 4 for each KickBot action that you add.

If the **Stream Deck** group shows **Link Kick account**, connect your Kick channel first.

> **Caution:** Keep the key private. Anyone with the key can clear your chat, change chat modes and send messages as KickBot in your channel. Do not show it on stream.

### Get a new key

If someone else saw your key, go to **Danger zone** on the settings page and click **Regenerate Stream Deck key**. The old key stops working at once. Paste the new key into every KickBot action in the Stream Deck app.

## Actions

| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Create clip** | Types `!clip` in your chat as KickBot, so the [!clip command](https://kickbot.com/docs/chat-bot/clip-command) makes a clip. Set **Clip Length** in the action, from 1 to 120 seconds (default 30). |
| **Send message** | Posts your text in chat as KickBot. Type the text in the **Message Text** box of the action. |
| **Clear chat** | Deletes all messages in your Kick chat, like Kick's `/clear` command. |
| **Chat slow mode** | Turns slow mode on or off. |
| **Followers only chat mode** | Turns followers-only chat on or off. |
| **Subs only chat mode** | Turns subscribers-only chat on or off. |
| **Emotes only chat mode** | Turns emotes-only chat on or off. |
| **Remove chat restrictions** | Turns off slow mode, followers-only, subs-only and emotes-only chat in one press. |
| **Toggle TTS** | Turns [KickBot TTS](https://kickbot.com/docs/tts/set-up-tts) on or off. The key shows if TTS is on or off. |
| **Skip current TTS message** | Stops the TTS message that is playing and goes to the next one. |
| **Clear TTS queue** | Removes all TTS messages that wait to play. |

When you change a chat mode or TTS from the Stream Deck, KickBot posts a short message in chat, for example "Slow mode has been enabled." or "TTS has been skipped."

> **Good to know:** **Create clip** needs the clip command to be on. The clip uses the length that you set on the key, up to the maximum length in your clip command settings.

## Troubleshooting

- **Nothing happens when I press a key.** Check that KickBot is a moderator in your channel. Type `/mod KickBot` in your Kick chat. Then check the **KickBot Key** in the action.
- **It stopped after I made a new key.** A new key makes the old one stop working. Paste the new key into every KickBot action.
- **Create clip posts `!clip` but no clip is made.** Turn on the clip command at [kickbot.com/dashboard/clipcommand](https://kickbot.com/dashboard/clipcommand). Clips only work while you are live.
- **I do not see the Stream Deck group in Settings.** Only the channel owner and admins can see it. Ask the owner for the key.

## FAQ

**Does KickBot work with Stream Deck for Kick?**

Yes. Install the KickBot plugin from the Elgato Marketplace, copy your Stream Deck key from the KickBot settings page, and paste it into each KickBot action.

**How do I make a Kick clip with a Stream Deck button?**

Add the **Create clip** action to a key and paste your KickBot key. Turn on the [!clip command](https://kickbot.com/docs/chat-bot/clip-command). When you press the key during your stream, KickBot makes a clip of the last moments.

**Can I use the Stream Deck to moderate my Kick chat?**

Yes. The plugin can clear the chat, turn slow mode, followers-only, subs-only and emotes-only chat on and off, and remove all chat restrictions at once.
