# How to accept tips and donations on Kick

> The ways to accept tips on Kick, from KICKs to tip pages and PayPal, how their fees, payouts and alerts compare, and how to set up a tip page with TTS.

Kick has no built-in way for viewers to send you money directly. Its own options are subscriptions and KICKs, Kick's paid gifts. To accept tips (one-time payments of any amount), you use an outside tip page and share the link in your channel panels and chat. A good tip page also plays each tip on stream with a sound, a message or a TTS voice.

This guide compares the options and shows how to set one up. Kick facts were checked in October 2026.

## Kick's own options: subs and KICKs

Before you add an outside tip service, use what Kick already has:

- **Subscriptions**: $5 a month, you keep 95% ([Understanding Kick's revenue split](https://help.kick.com/en/articles/15159722-understanding-kick-s-revenue-split)). You can turn them on after 5 hours of streaming.
- **KICKs**: viewers buy KICKs on Kick and send them in your chat. You receive 95% of the value. You need Streamer status in your Achievements and a finished Stripe Connect setup to receive them ([Guide to KICKs](https://help.kick.com/en/articles/12134119-guide-to-kicks)).

KICKs work a little like tips: a KICKs message is pinned in chat, and more KICKs keep it there longer. But Kick's [KICKs Usage Policy](https://kick.com/kicks-usage-policy) says you must not call KICKs "donations", and you must not offer perks in exchange for them. So keep KICKs and tips separate when you talk about them on stream.

The full list of Kick income is in [how to make money on Kick](https://kickbot.com/guides/money/make-money-on-kick).

## Why streamers add a tip page

A tip page is your own payment page, for example `kickbot.com/tips/yourchannel`. Viewers pick an amount, write a message and pay with a card. Compared with KICKs:

- **No Kick requirements.** It works from your first stream.
- **Viewers pay any amount** that you allow, in money, not in a virtual currency.
- **The tip plays on stream.** The message is read out with TTS or shown in an alert, so the tipper gets a moment on stream.
- **It is paid separately** from Kick, on the service's own schedule.

## Compare tip options

These are the common ways Kick streamers accept tips. All numbers come from each company's own pages, checked in October 2026, and are the US rates. Rates differ by country and can change, so follow the links before you decide.

### Protection and features

| Option | Chargebacks and disputes | Privacy | Approve before the viewer pays | On stream |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| KickBot tipping | KickBot pays the $15 dispute fee and fights the chargeback for you. | Botrix | PayPal may charge you a $15 dispute fee ($30 at high volume), or a $20 chargeback fee for card payments made without a PayPal account. | PayPal may show the payer your name, email, city and phone number, depending on your account settings. | No. The money goes straight to your PayPal account when the viewer pays. | Botrix alerts and TTS. |
| A plain PayPal link | Same PayPal dispute and chargeback fees. | Same as Botrix. The viewer pays you as a PayPal user. | No. | Nothing, unless you connect an alert tool. |

> **Note:** If you use StreamElements tips: StreamElements says SEPay balances can be withdrawn until December 31, 2026, and creators must connect PayPal to keep receiving tips ([StreamElements support](https://support.streamelements.com/hc/en-us/articles/37638071435282)).

### What you keep from a tip

Each fee is a percentage of the tip plus a fixed fee, rounded to the cent:

- **KickBot:** tip − 6% of the tip − (2.9% of the tip + $0.30)
- **PayPal:** tip − (PayPal's rate × the tip + $0.49)
- **Streamlabs card tip:** tip − (2.9% of the tip + $0.30)

For example, a $5 KickBot tip: $5.00 − $0.30 − $0.45 = $4.25.

| Tip (US viewer) | KickBot | PayPal Checkout (3.49% + $0.49) | PayPal donation button (2.89% + $0.49) | Streamlabs card tip (2.9% + $0.30) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $2 | $1.52 | $1.44 | $1.45 | $1.64 |
| $5 | $4.25 | $4.34 | $4.37 | $4.55 |
| $10 | $8.81 | $9.16 | $9.22 | $9.41 |
| $25 | $22.47 | $23.64 | $23.79 | $24.47 |

Streamlabs card tips also have the withdrawal fee (0.5% under $2,000, at most $10 a month), which is not in the table.

For a viewer in another country, PayPal Checkout costs 3.49% + 1.50% + $0.49, before any currency conversion. A $3 tip then leaves you $2.36 with PayPal and $2.43 with KickBot, because KickBot's fee does not change.

What to look at besides the fee:

- **Small tips.** A fixed fee per payment takes a large share of a $2 tip.
- **Chargebacks.** When a viewer disputes a card payment, someone pays the dispute fee. Check who.
- **What plays on stream.** TTS, GIFs and sounds make tipping fun.
- **Moderation.** Tip messages are read aloud, so you need filters and a way to reject a tip before it plays.
- **Privacy.** Some payment links show your real name or email to the viewer.

## Why streamers use KickBot tipping

On larger tips, KickBot's fee per tip is higher than PayPal's. But the fee per tip is not the full cost. With PayPal, you also pay more for viewers in other countries, you lose 3% to 4% when PayPal converts their currency, and you pay $15 to $30 for each dispute. With KickBot, the 6% covers all of these. So over a month, KickBot often leaves you more money than PayPal, with less work and more privacy.

### Example: one month of tips

You get 100 tips of $5. 30 of them come from viewers in other countries who pay in their own currency. One viewer files a chargeback and wins it.

| | KickBot | PayPal Checkout |
|---|---|---|
| 100 tips, no chargeback | $425.00 | $427.10 |
| 100 tips, 1 lost chargeback | **$420.75** | $407.76 |
| Who handles the chargeback | KickBot | You |

Without a chargeback, the two are about $2 apart. One chargeback puts KickBot $13 ahead. A single $15 dispute fee is about what PayPal saves you on 170 tips of $5 from US viewers, or on 40 tips of $10. The example uses PayPal's lowest rates: a 3% conversion spread and a $15 dispute fee.

### What the 6% gets you

- **More of each small tip.** PayPal's fixed fee is $0.49 per payment, and Stripe's is $0.30. On a $2 tip, KickBot leaves you $1.52 and PayPal Checkout $1.44. KickBot leaves you the same or more than PayPal Checkout on tips up to about $3.50, and more than a PayPal donation button up to about $3.
- **The same fee for every country.** A tip from a card in another country costs the same, and KickBot pays the currency exchange fees. PayPal adds 1.50% for international payments and a 3.00% to 4.00% spread when it converts currency. For viewers in other countries, KickBot leaves you more than PayPal Checkout on tips under about $5.
- **You never pay a dispute fee.** If a viewer files a chargeback, KickBot pays the $15 dispute fee and fights it for you. With PayPal, you can be charged $15 to $30 per dispute. With Streamlabs card tips, you pay $15 and send the evidence yourself.
- **Your name and email stay private.** Viewers see your channel name and a KickBot charge on their card statement. They never see your legal name, email or bank details, and you never see their payment details.
- **Approve a tip before anyone pays.** Tips wait in your [tip queue](https://kickbot.com/docs/tipping/tip-queue) and are charged when they play. If you reject a tip, or it does not play within 15 minutes, the viewer is not charged, so there is nothing to refund.
- **Every tip is a moment on stream.** The [tip alert](https://kickbot.com/docs/tipping/tip-alerts) reads the message in the TTS voice the viewer picked and shows a GIF, and KickBot posts a line in your Kick chat.
- **Filters before checkout.** Word, name, link, regex and AI filters block a bad message before the viewer can pay. See [tip moderation](https://kickbot.com/docs/tipping/tip-moderation).
- **Free payouts to your bank.** Stripe pays your balance to your bank on the 15th of each month, with no payout fee and no minimum. You can connect Stripe from 102 countries.

## Tipping with KickBot

[KickBot tipping](https://kickbot.com/docs/tipping/set-up-tipping) is made for Kick. Here is how it works, with the numbers from the KickBot dashboard:

- **Your tip page** is `kickbot.com/tips/yourchannel`. With Premium, you can pick a custom URL. See [tip page](https://kickbot.com/docs/tipping/tip-page).
- **Amounts**: you set a minimum ($1 to $499), a maximum (up to $500) and preset buttons.
- **Fees**: KickBot keeps 6%, and Stripe keeps 2.9% + $0.30 per tip. On a $10 tip, KickBot keeps $0.60 and Stripe keeps $0.59 ($0.29 + $0.30), so $8.81 goes to your balance.
- **Payouts**: through Stripe, monthly on the 15th, after tips settle for 7 days. See [earnings and payouts](https://kickbot.com/docs/tipping/earnings-and-payouts).

### Set it up

1. Open [kickbot.com/dashboard/tipping/settings](https://kickbot.com/dashboard/tipping/settings) and connect a Stripe account. Pick the country where you or your business are legally established.
2. On **Payment page**, set your amounts, TTS voices and GIFs. Turn on **Test mode** to try it without real money.
3. Add the tip alert widget to OBS as a browser source. It must be open in OBS for tips to play.
4. Share your link (see below).

The full steps are in [set up tipping](https://kickbot.com/docs/tipping/set-up-tipping).

## Share your tip link

- **Kick channel panel.** Add a panel with an image and your link. Kick says panels can be used for your socials, events or other information ([How to add or remove Kick channel panels](https://help.kick.com/en/articles/7109352-how-to-add-or-remove-kick-channel-panels)).
- **A chat command** such as `!tip` that posts the link. See [Kick chat commands](https://kickbot.com/guides/grow/kick-chat-commands).
- **A timed message** now and then, not every five minutes.
- **Say it on stream** when it fits, for example after a tip plays: "Tips go through the link in my panels."

Thank every tipper by name.

## Rules to follow

- Kick's [community guidelines](https://kick.com/community-guidelines) make you responsible for links in your channel, and ban scam or malicious links. Use a tip service you trust.
- Do not mix KICKs and tips. Kick does not allow you to call KICKs donations.
- At the time of writing, Kick's help center has no page that sets specific rules for outside tip links. Check the guidelines if that changes.
- Tips are income. Ask a tax professional in your country how to report them.

## FAQ

**Can you donate on Kick?**

Kick has no donation button of its own. Viewers support streamers on Kick with subs and KICKs. For money tips, streamers use an outside tip page, such as a KickBot tip page, and put the link in their panels or chat.

**How do I set up donations on Kick?**

Create a tip page with a tip service, connect it to your bank (KickBot uses Stripe), add the tip alert to OBS so tips play on stream, and put the link in a Kick channel panel and a `!tip` command.

**What are the fees for tips on Kick?**

It depends on the service. With KickBot, the fee is 6% plus Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30 per tip, with no payout fee, so a $5 tip leaves you $4.25. In the US, PayPal Checkout costs 3.49% + $0.49 per payment, plus 1.50% for viewers in other countries. KICKs are different: Kick keeps 5% and you get 95%.

**Is PayPal or KickBot cheaper for tips on Kick?**

Per tip, KickBot is cheaper for small tips: a $2 tip leaves you $1.52 with KickBot and $1.44 with PayPal Checkout. From about $3.50 up (about $5 for viewers in other countries), PayPal's fee per tip is lower. Over a month, PayPal's other costs often change the result: fees for viewers in other countries, currency conversion, and $15 to $30 for each dispute. In the [example above](#example-one-month-of-tips), one chargeback puts KickBot $13 ahead on 100 tips of $5. With PayPal, the viewer can also see your PayPal name and email.

**How do viewers tip a streamer on Kick?**

They open the streamer's tip link, pick an amount, write a message and pay. See [how to tip on Kick](https://kickbot.com/guides/viewers/how-to-tip-on-kick) for the viewer's steps.
