# Find your Kick stream key

> Where to find your Kick stream key and server URL, how to paste them into OBS or a phone app, how to reset a leaked key, and how to keep it safe.

Your Kick stream key is in the Kick Creator Dashboard, under **Channel** > **Stream URL and Key**. The same page shows the server URL (it starts with `rtmps://`). You paste both into OBS or another streaming app so it can send your video to your channel.

Treat the key like a password. Kick says that anyone with your stream key can broadcast directly to your channel ([Kick help center](https://help.kick.com/en/articles/14994318-obs-or-streamlabs-not-connecting-to-kick)).

## Where to find your stream key

1. Sign in on [kick.com](https://kick.com) with the account you stream from.
2. Open the [Creator Dashboard](https://dashboard.kick.com/stream). You can also open it from the menu under your avatar on kick.com.
3. In the menu, click **Channel**.
4. Click **Stream URL and Key**.
5. Copy the **Stream URL** (server) and the **Stream Key**.

These steps come from Kick's guide [How to stream on Kick.com](https://help.kick.com/en/articles/7066931-how-to-stream-on-kick-com). Kick's mobile guide links the same page directly: [dashboard.kick.com/channel/stream](https://dashboard.kick.com/channel/stream).

> **Good to know:** The stream key and the server URL are two different values. Most connection errors happen when the key ends up in the server box, or when part of the key is not copied.

## Add the key to OBS Studio

1. Open OBS and click **File** > **Settings**.
2. Click **Stream**.
3. Set **Service** to **Custom...**.
4. Paste the stream URL into **Server**.
5. Paste the stream key into **Stream Key**.
6. Click **Apply**, then **OK**.

Before you click **Start Streaming**, set a title and category in your Creator Dashboard. Kick says the stream may not start correctly without them. The full first-stream steps are in [How to stream on Kick](https://kickbot.com/guides/start/how-to-stream-on-kick).

## Streamlabs Desktop: no key needed

Streamlabs Desktop can connect to Kick with a sign-in instead of a key. Open **Settings** > **Stream**, click **Connect** next to Kick, and sign in through your browser. See [Streamlabs and Kick](https://kickbot.com/guides/setup/streamlabs-and-kick).

## Phone apps (Streamlabs Mobile, PRISM, Larix, Moblin)

Third-party phone apps use a **Custom RTMP** destination. At the time of writing (October 2026), Kick's help center tells you to use this stream URL in those apps ([Streaming on Kick from your mobile phone](https://help.kick.com/en/articles/7135289-streaming-on-kick-from-your-mobile-phone)):

```
rtmps://fa723fc1b171.global-contribute.live-video.net:443/app
```

Then paste your own stream key. The `:443/app` at the end is required. Kick's official KICK - Go Live app does not need a key, because you sign in to your Kick account in the app. See [How to stream on Kick from your phone](https://kickbot.com/guides/start/stream-on-kick-from-phone).

## Reset your stream key

Reset the key if you showed it on stream, sent it to someone, or think someone else is using it.

1. Open your [Creator Dashboard](https://dashboard.kick.com/stream).
2. Go to **Channel** > **Stream URL and Key**.
3. Click **Reset**.
4. Copy the new key and paste it into OBS (or every app you stream from).

Kick does not keep your old key. After a reset, the old key stops working, so your streaming software cannot connect until you paste the new one ([Kick help center](https://help.kick.com/en/articles/14994318-obs-or-streamlabs-not-connecting-to-kick)).

## Keep your stream key safe

- Do not show the **Stream** settings page in OBS on stream or in a screenshot. OBS hides the key by default, but the **Show** button reveals it.
- Do not share the key with editors, moderators or friends. If someone needs to run your stream, use a tool with its own sign-in.
- Turn on two-factor authentication in your [Kick security settings](https://kick.com/settings/security). It protects the account that the key belongs to.
- Be careful with messages that ask for your key. Kick has a guide to [phishing and impersonation](https://help.kick.com/en/articles/15065371-recognising-phishing-scams-and-impersonation-on-kick).

Overlay links need the same care. Many overlay tools, including [KickBot widgets](https://kickbot.com/docs/widgets/widget-library), give you a private browser source URL for OBS. A person with that URL cannot stream to your channel, but they can open your overlay. Keep those URLs out of screenshots too.

## FAQ

**Where is my stream key on Kick?**

In the Kick Creator Dashboard, click **Channel**, then **Stream URL and Key**. The direct link is [dashboard.kick.com/channel/stream](https://dashboard.kick.com/channel/stream).

**Does my Kick stream key change every stream?**

No. The key stays the same until you click **Reset**. After a reset, you must paste the new key into your streaming software.

**What is the Kick RTMP server URL?**

Copy the stream URL from **Stream URL and Key** in your dashboard. For third-party phone apps and LiveU Studio, Kick lists `rtmps://fa723fc1b171.global-contribute.live-video.net:443/app` at the time of writing.

**Someone streamed on my channel. What do I do?**

Reset your stream key right away, change your Kick password, and turn on two-factor authentication. Then contact Kick support if anything was posted that breaks the rules.
