Kick has a browser studio called **Web Go Live** (Kick Studio). It lets you stream from the Kick website without OBS or any other software. Open your [Kick Creator Dashboard](https://dashboard.kick.com/), click **Go Live**, allow your camera and microphone, set a title and category, and click **Go Live** again. It has scenes, a webcam and screen share, and built-in chat box and alert widgets ([Kick help center](https://help.kick.com/en/articles/15952303-kick-studio-web-go-live)).

This guide follows Kick's own article (checked October 24, 2026), and explains when the browser studio is a good choice and how KickBot works with it.

## Web Go Live or OBS?

| | Web Go Live | OBS Studio or another streaming app |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Install | Nothing, it runs in your browser | Download and set up the app |
| Stream key | Not needed | Needed for OBS (some apps log in to Kick instead) |
| Sources | Camera, image, video, screen share | Any: game capture, browser sources, plugins and more |
| Chat and alerts on stream | Built-in **Chat Box** and **Alerts** widgets | Add them with a tool such as [KickBot widgets](https://kickbot.com/docs/widgets/widget-library) |
| Good for | Just chatting, webcam streams, screen share, a quick first stream | Games, full layouts, custom overlays |

Kick lists three ways to go live: streaming software, Web Go Live, and the **KICK - Go Live** phone app. See [How to stream on Kick](https://kickbot.com/guides/start/how-to-stream-on-kick) for all of them, and [How to stream on Kick from your phone](https://kickbot.com/guides/start/stream-on-kick-from-phone) for the app.

## Start a stream with Web Go Live

1. Open your [Kick Creator Dashboard](https://dashboard.kick.com/) on a computer.
2. Click **Go Live**. The first time, Kick shows a short onboarding before the studio opens.
3. When your browser asks, click **Allow** for the camera and **Allow** for the microphone. Kick needs both before you can start.
4. Click the pencil icon at the bottom and set your **Stream Title**, **Stream Category**, tags, **Stream Language** and, if it applies, **18+ Mature Audience Only**.
5. Pick a scene and add your widgets (see below).
6. Check your microphone with the microphone icon at the bottom.
7. Click **Go Live** at the bottom of the screen.

## Scenes

You can switch between scenes while you are live. Kick includes:

- **Scene + Widget**: your camera with on-screen widgets.
- **Starting Soon**: a screen to show before you start.
- **Back Soon**: a screen to show while you are away.
- **Custom Preset**: your own layout, saved for future streams.

To add a scene, click the **+** icon at the top of the scenes area. You can start from **Full Screen Camera**, **Side by Side Cameras**, **3 Column Cameras**, **Quad Cameras** or **Screenshare**.

## Widgets

Add widgets from the left side of the studio. Drag them to move them and resize them to fit your layout. Kick lists these widgets:

| Widget | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| Camera | A webcam or capture card |
| Image | A JPG, PNG or GIF from your computer |
| Video | A video |
| Screen | A desktop or window screen share |
| Chat Box | Your Kick chat on stream |
| Alerts | Follows, subscriptions, gifted subscriptions and KICKs |

Hover over a widget to see its controls. Most widgets can be shown or hidden, brought to the front, sent to the back and deleted. The Chat Box and Alerts widgets can snap to the edges of the screen, and you can lock the position of the Chat Box. On the Alerts widget, you choose which alert types show.

## Audio

Click the microphone icon at the bottom of the scene to:

- Pick your microphone.
- Pick your speaker or audio output.
- Change the audio levels.
- Show or hide the audio panel.

Click the microphone icon to turn the sound source on or off.

## Use KickBot with Web Go Live

KickBot's chat bot works the same with Web Go Live as with OBS, because it runs on KickBot's servers and posts in your Kick chat:

- [Custom commands](https://kickbot.com/docs/chat-bot/custom-commands) and [timed messages](https://kickbot.com/docs/chat-bot/timed-messages)
- [Chat alerts](https://kickbot.com/docs/alerts/chat-alerts) for follows, subs, gifted subs and KICKs
- [Moderation filters](https://kickbot.com/docs/chat-bot/moderation) and the [`!clip` command](https://kickbot.com/docs/chat-bot/clip-command)

KickBot must be a moderator in your channel. See [Add KickBot as a moderator](https://kickbot.com/docs/getting-started/add-kickbot-as-moderator).

KickBot's on-screen overlays, such as TTS, the widget library alerts and tip alerts, are web pages that you add as a browser source in OBS, Streamlabs Desktop or Meld. Kick's article does not list a web page or browser widget for Web Go Live, so you cannot add these overlays there the same way. If you want TTS or KickBot alerts on stream, use a streaming app. See [Add a browser source](https://kickbot.com/docs/getting-started/add-browser-source-obs).

## Troubleshooting

The first two answers come from Kick's article.

**You get an error when you click Go Live.** Set your stream title, category, language and rating with the pencil icon, then try again.

**Your stream has no sound.** Check that you allowed Kick to use your microphone and desktop audio sources in your browser.

**The camera does not show.** Your browser must allow camera access for Kick. If you clicked **Block** by mistake, allow the camera for kick.com in your browser's site settings and reload the page.
