The easiest way to stream on Kick from your phone is Kick's own app, **KICK - Go Live**, for iPhone and Android. You sign in with your Kick account, set a title and category, and tap the go live button. Any Kick account can use it. You do not need Affiliate, Verified or Partner status ([Getting started with the KICK - Go Live app](https://help.kick.com/en/articles/15159836-getting-started-with-the-kick-go-live-app)).

You can also use a third-party app such as Streamlabs Mobile or PRISM Live Studio with your Kick stream key. This page compares the options and shows the settings that matter on a phone.

## Your options

| App | How it connects | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| KICK - Go Live ([App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/kick-go-live/id6743709514), [Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kick.streaming)) | Sign in with your Kick account | Kick's official app. Front and back camera at the same time, screen sharing. Chat is read-only in the app. |
| Streamlabs Mobile | Custom RTMP and your stream key | Free on iOS and Android. Set the title and category on the Kick website first. Kick says Streamlabs Mobile chat does not work for Kick. |
| PRISM Live Studio | Custom RTMP and your stream key | Free. Kick uses it in its [mobile games guide](https://help.kick.com/en/articles/7338443-how-to-stream-mobile-games-to-kick). |
| Larix Broadcaster, Moblin | Custom RTMP and your stream key | Kick lists them as other apps streamers use. |

## Stream with the KICK - Go Live app

1. Check your phone. Kick lists iOS 18.0 or later, or Android 8.0 or later.
2. Install **KICK - Go Live**. It is a separate app from the normal Kick app for watching.
3. Open it and sign in with your Kick email and password (or Google or Apple). Enter your 2FA code if you use one.
4. Allow camera and microphone access. The app cannot stream without both.
5. Set your stream title, category and any content labels, such as 18+. You can do this inside the app.
6. Tap the green circle button and confirm your settings.

When you end the stream, it is saved as a VOD on your channel, the same as a stream from a computer.

### What the app cannot do

Kick lists these limits in its guide:

- You can read chat, but you cannot reply to chat from the app. Use kick.com on a second device if you want to type.
- Emotes, badges and channel settings are managed on the website.

### Show your screen or two cameras

- **Screen sharing** sends your phone screen to the stream. Use it for mobile games.
- **Dual camera** shows the front and back camera at the same time, as picture in picture. You can move the small window to any corner. Kick says some Android phones do not support dual camera ([Dual camera and screen sharing](https://help.kick.com/en/articles/15127487-dual-camera-and-screen-sharing-on-the-kick-go-live-app-ios-only)).

## Stream with a Custom RTMP app

These steps work for Streamlabs Mobile, PRISM, Larix and Moblin. The menu names change a little from app to app.

1. Copy your stream key from [dashboard.kick.com/channel/stream](https://dashboard.kick.com/channel/stream). See [Find your Kick stream key](https://kickbot.com/guides/start/kick-stream-key).
2. In the app, add a new destination and choose **Custom RTMP**.
3. Name it, for example "Kick".
4. Enter the stream URL that Kick lists for mobile apps: `rtmps://fa723fc1b171.global-contribute.live-video.net:443/app`.
5. Paste your stream key and save.
6. Set your title and category in the [Creator Dashboard](https://dashboard.kick.com/stream) on the Kick website.
7. Tap **Go Live** in the app.

If the stream does not start, Kick suggests that you check the URL (including `:443/app`), check the key, check camera and microphone permissions, and switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.

## Settings for a phone stream

The KICK - Go Live app supports 360p to 1080p (240p on Android), 30 or 60 fps, and up to 8,000 kbps. Kick gives this rough guide in [Settings and stream quality on the KICK - Go Live app](https://help.kick.com/en/articles/15159752-settings-and-stream-quality-on-the-kick-go-live-app):

| Resolution | Bitrate from Kick's guide |
|---|---|
| 480p | 1,500 to 2,500 kbps |
| 720p, 30 fps | 2,500 to 4,500 kbps |
| 720p, 60 fps | 3,500 to 5,000 kbps |
| 1080p, 30 fps | 4,500 to 6,000 kbps |
| 1080p, 60 fps | 6,000 to 8,000 kbps |

Kick says your bitrate should be less than half your upload speed. For IRL streams where you move a lot, Kick suggests 720p, because it is more stable than 1080p. Use 30 fps for talking and IRL, and 60 fps for fast games.

If your stream stutters, lower the bitrate first, then the resolution, then change 60 fps to 30 fps.

## Data, battery and heat

- **Data.** Kick says a stream uses several GB per hour, depending on the bitrate. Check your mobile plan before you stream on mobile data.
- **Network.** 5G or 4G LTE usually works. Kick does not recommend 3G. On a walking stream, mobile data alone is often more stable than switching between Wi-Fi networks.
- **Battery.** Carry a power bank for streams longer than 30 minutes, and turn down screen brightness.
- **Heat.** Avoid direct sun and lower the quality if the phone gets hot. Kick also suggests you do not charge while you stream.
- **Safety.** Do not show your home, your address or mail on camera, and be careful with live location tags.

## Keep chat active while you cannot type

On a phone stream, your hands are busy and the Kick app cannot reply in chat. A chat bot runs on its own servers, so it keeps working while you walk around. It does not need anything on your phone.

With [KickBot](https://kickbot.com), streamers usually turn on:

- [Custom commands](https://kickbot.com/docs/chat-bot/custom-commands), so `!socials` or `!schedule` answer viewers for you.
- [Timed messages](https://kickbot.com/docs/chat-bot/timed-messages), for a reminder every 15 or 30 minutes, for example.
- [Chat moderation](https://kickbot.com/docs/chat-bot/moderation) filters, which delete spam and bad words while you cannot watch chat closely.
- [Chat alerts](https://kickbot.com/docs/alerts/chat-alerts), which post a thank-you message in chat when someone follows, subs or sends KICKs.
- The [clip command](https://kickbot.com/docs/chat-bot/clip-command), so viewers can save moments with `!clip`.

KickBot needs to be a moderator in your channel to post and delete messages. See [Add KickBot as a moderator](https://kickbot.com/docs/getting-started/add-kickbot-as-moderator).

> **Note:** On-screen overlays and TTS are web pages that play through a browser source. They show only if your streaming app can add a web page to the stream. Most phone streaming apps cannot, so plan to use the chat bot features on mobile, and overlays when you stream from a computer.

## FAQ

**Can I stream on Kick from my phone?**

Yes. Use Kick's KICK - Go Live app on iPhone (iOS 18 or later) or Android (Android 8 or later), or a Custom RTMP app such as Streamlabs Mobile or PRISM Live Studio.

**How do I stream mobile games on Kick?**

Use screen sharing in the KICK - Go Live app, or choose **Screen** in PRISM Live Studio. Start the stream first, then open your game.

**Why can I not reply to chat in the KICK - Go Live app?**

At the time of writing, chat in the app is read-only. Open kick.com on another device to type, or let your moderators and a chat bot handle chat.

**Why does my phone stream keep disconnecting?**

Usually the signal is weak or the bitrate is too high for your connection. Lower the bitrate or resolution, or move to a place with better signal.
